What is American Hardtech?
American founders are sparking a renaissance in hardtech; technologies that are difficult to build and have a big impact.
From El Segundo to Cambridge, Mass, these founders are building tech ranging from rockets to medical devices to energy production to AI/ML, and beyond. I know this because I've spent my career working in hardtech and see it everyday.
When I share details about what I'm seeing with friends, many, including those who work in the startup world are shocked. The stories are under the radar of most folks and scattered across sources.
It's hard to keep your finger on the pulse and there's no single place to watch the American industrial rebuild happen, day to day. So I'm building one.
American Hardtech is a regular brief on the companies, capital, and people reindustrializing the country and leading this hardtech renaissance. Every weekday, I publish a short brief on X (@AmHardtech) about what's happening that day in defense, space, energy, manufacturing, robotics, maritime, chips, and more. Every Saturday, I publish a weekly roundup newsletter here on the week's top hardtech news. In the near future, I'll also start hosting interviews with the builders who are in the trenches doing the work, from founders to investors to key leaders in relevant fields.
My first focus is U.S. hardtech, but I also happily cover Allied hardtech (i.e.- Five Eyes, NATO, and other U.S. allies).
